Code of Conduct

The code of conduct applies to anyone on the site of EcoHacks.

YENYR values diversity and inclusivity. Each individual must be respectful to others. Each individual at EcoHacks has the right to be in a safe environment. Therefore, any form of harassment is strictly prohibited. This includes expressing hurtful comments (written or verbal) towards someone or unwelcome physical contact.

Prohibited substances, alcohol, and weapons are NOT to be brought onto the site of EcoHacks.

If you witness an individual breaking the code of conduct, it must be reported.

TL;DR. Be respectful. Harassment and abuse are never tolerated. Usage of prohibited substances will result in immediate expulsion. If you are in a situation that makes you uncomfortable at our event, please report it using the procedures included in this document.

YENYR stands for inclusivity. We believe that every single person has the right to hack in a safe and welcoming environment. Harassment includes but is not limited to offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. If what you’re doing is making someone feel uncomfortable, that counts as harassment and is enough reason to stop doing it. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

All sponsors, judges, mentors, volunteers, organizers, attendees, YENYR staff and anyone else at the event will be subject to the anti-harassment policy.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, YENYR may take any action YENYR deems appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no eligibility for future attendance to our events.

During our event, it is expected for all participants to remain onsite for the hack, in order to ensure fairness for all attendees. Furthermore, it is mandatory for all participants to refrain from all indulgence or distribution of any alcoholic products and illicit and inhibitory drugs whatsoever.

Any problems or issues can be reported to any YENYR staff.
